Nearly a year has gone by since my last post....

It is nearing late June 2009. We are readying ourselves for two exciting marriages this summer. First my niece Katherine will marry Adam on July 3 at the Lakes Country Club. She's expecting 150 guests and she will look marvelous. She is so sweet, beautiful and super kind. They are so in love and it shows. Afterwards, we will all celebrate the 4th of July at the shore. Looking forward to some extended family time, good eats and plenty of water sports - at least I can enjoy watching the kids skiing, tubeing and swimming. We will have a long stay at the lake that week.

The next wedding will be Katherine's older sister Laura. Laura will marry Dale the Sunday evening before Labor day on Mackinaw Island, Michigan at the Stonecliff Inn. Her rehearsal dinner will be at the Grand Hotel. The prior to the event, we will spend a few days in Habor Springs, MI. It is a lovely lake side town. We used to spend at least a week each summer on the shores of west MI until we bought our lake house in Ohio. Now we drive just 50 minutes away and enjoy the quiet lake life. Oh how we miss Michigan summers.

We have considered, for two years nows, selling all our properties and buying a nice condo, near where we live now, on a no wake lake. We've got the kayak and could trade in our water sports equipment and sports boat for a pontoon boat. We could also bring my mother in law up from Florida to live with us. She is a sweet 89 year old and is loads of fun.

We'd miss our neighbor(s) of 20 years, but instead of just walking next door we would be a quick drive away - probably a mile or two away.

Rachel is about to return from China where she has spent the last year teaching English and Math. She will go on to Johns Hopkins to get a Ph.D. in biostatistics (whatever that is). Our own niece, Jennifer, will return to OSU in her junior year in micro-genetics.

Megan and I will travel to Hong Kong with OSU alumni and graduate students after the September wedding. A friend from my MBA days will also join us. Unfortunately, due to the movement disorders, I must have some travel with me.

My spouse was down sized and has been hanging around the house for nearly two years now. As for the second half of 2007 and first half of 2008 I needed around the clock care. I was down to 98 pounds! I was very ill and in and out of the hospital several times. In addition, my father-in-law suffered from a brain tumor and passed away - devastating my spouse.

At the same time we began to collect kitties. Neither of us ever had pets, but one by one we eventually adopted four kitties and now have a crew. Hair everywhere!! Constant cleaning. When and if they begin to pass away, I will not replace them. Too much hair!

I'm off to have therapy treatment for my severely tight muscles.

I keep praying and know that keeping my mind focused on the present and future that Life Keeps on Getting Better!
